New York Pride Parade!

Long time no blog. It's not that I haven't been dreaming...

My friend Wes and I were walking around Central Park and chatting about being in New York and plans for the evening. Suddenly someone comes running or maybe roller skating by with these flyers for a pride event that night. It had pictures of all the QAF boys on it, some were listed as the actors, but others as the characters for some reason. Randy was Randy, but Hal was Michael. Anyway, they were all hosting this play thing that evening. So we start screaming and jumping around all excited that we will get to see all of them.

Then it hits us, if pride events are that night then the parade must be that day. So we run to some street that we assume it would be on. I think we decided we wanted to be in it because I remember pushing through the crowd. I think we ended up walking with Debbie or something. I’m not sure. I know we were waving and cheering in Times Square and I think Peter was on a float near us, teasing the crowd by lifting his shirt and eventually taking it off, obviously. He does that at every pride event he goes to.

Cut to us standing in a building. It was part theater, part school, part grocery store. There were all sorts of stair cases and hallways that made it maze like and fun. We followed a crowd of people to the theater area. We found seats in the center towards the front. I spot Gale standing to the side of the stage, looking bored. I think he may have had a beer or something. He was there as Gale, but dressed like Brian at Babylon.

The lights go off. A play/burlesque show begins on stage. All the QAF boys (except Gale) are wearing these long hooded blue robes. Randy has a straight face and is holding his hands together like in prayer. He is walking around the crowd in a creepy way. The others are not as serious, but are still wandering about the crowd. Michael keeps trying not to laugh. Gale is still standing to the side looking bored.

Intermission comes and we decide to go get a snack. We wander to store part of the building. Wes was really excited that they had some sort of cookie or cracker thing, it was green. I had never heard of it. Then someone comes running through the aisles screaming that grades have been posted. We all rush up to this tiny little hallway to get our grades and papers back. I guess Wes and I had written some paper together about environmental issues and psychology. My copy of the paper had a few marks and an ok grade, Wesley's had all sorts of comments and apparently you had the best paper the professor had ever read. He were super excited because the professor wanted to publish it. I was confused because I had the same paper and he didn’t really like it. Wes didn’t seem to care, so I was pissed at him now.

We return to a new, smaller room for the second half of the play. I refuse to sit near Wes so I go off to the side. All the boys are standing on stage in these odd costumes. They have colorful robes and masks, some look like they belong in the Nutcracker. Gale is now gone. That pissed me off even more. Then the lights go down and the boys start to move around to this somber music. Then out of nowhere it turns to Babylon club music and the black lights and strobe lights come on. It was now just a club party. I decided that I should just be happy for Wes and enjoy the evening. I try to walk over to him, but am distracted by a now nearly naked Randy dancing towards me.
